The Pisuerga Trail
Route Description
Between Cervera de Pisuerga and Barcenilla, the course of the Pisuerga River allows us to enjoy one of the most attractive and pleasant bicycle routes.
We will take a ride along the right bank of the Pisuerga River, taking advantage of the agricultural paths that connect the different towns and provide access to the estates, allowing us to travel along the riverbank in multiple sections.
We will pass through Vado, go past Ligüérzana, visit Quintanaluengos, and reach Barcenilla. For the return journey, we will take a short detour around the two towns we pass through and visit the Laguna de la Sosa, a small residual lagoon that serves as a reserve for the Large Blue butterfly. The rest of the way will be along the same path we took earlier, except for the section between Vado and Cervera, which will be on the right bank of the Rivera River, a tributary of the Pisuerga.
Note: Along this route, you may find coinciding signage for the following trails:
- Touristic BTT Route through the Mining Basins of Castilla y León.
- Camino Natural del Románico Palentino.
